During your Moving Day...

Work with Your Movers

Be on hand when the movers arrive.  If you are not able to be present while they are there, designate a friend or family member who will be authorized to make decisions for you.  Let the office know to whom you have given the authority.  Be sure you have chosen someone who knows exactly what to do and where your items will go.  This person may be asked to sign documents obligating you to charges.

Provide Numbers

Provide the new phone number and all other phone numbers where you can be reached while your items are in transit.  Make sure to give detailed directions to your new location.

Make Final Inspection

Stay home until the last item is loaded.  Make a final inspection before the men leave.  It is YOUR responsibility to see ALL your goods are loaded.  There may be an additional charge if something is left and the movers have to go back and get it.  Leave your phone connected throughout your moving day.  After the truck leaves, pack your phone in your vehicle for easy access when you arrive to your new location.  PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE WHILE THE MOVERS ARE THERE.

Be Available

Review your floor plan so you can tell the movers where to place your furniture and appliances.  Make yourself available for the men and give instructions on where to place your furniture while unloading.  Keep in mind you will probably have several men there and more than one may be asking where you want certain items to go.  Stay there in case any questions arise.

Leave Someone in Charge

If you cannot be at your new location while the truck is being unloaded, be sure to authorize a representative to accept delivery and pay the charges for you.  Inform the office of your representative and give them his or her name.  This person will be asked to note any damage or missing items at the time of delivery.

Get a Sitter

Since this is a very hectic time for you, consider having a sitter come to entertain your children.  Even though they are small, this is a very exciting and scary time for them also.  Having someone there just for them will not only help you, but will also ease the transition for them.

Pets

Put your pets in a room where they will not be disturbed during the loading and unloading process.  This is for their protection as well as the movers.  Remember, your door will be open most of the time and we want Rover and Kitty safe.

Payment

Payment is required upon the completion of your move unless you are moving out of town, payment on all out of town moves are payable upon completion of load.  Please note, we accept cash, checks, money orders, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.  Please note that credit card/debit card payments will incur a 5% electronic processing fee in addition to your move cost.  Your payment can be given to ANY of the men on the move.  If you will be paying by cash, a receipt will be mailed to you upon request.  Personal checks are accepted with the proper identification.
